Working for yourself comes with many advantages, one of which is being able to plan your own schedule and determine your own intentions for the tasks at hand.
As a life coach for moms, particularly those who are approaching, or who are in their empty nest years, the concepts of self-care, work-life balance, and overall unapologetic living, sans kids (yes, there is life outside of motherhood!) are areas that I am an expert in.
1) So when your business calendar has some flexibility, albeit limited.
2) you live in the NYC area.
3) You love doing and exploring new and exciting things so that you are an authentic example of what you encourage your clients to be, do, and have….
4) You’d be nuts not to take advantage of some of the opportunities that are waiting to be tapped – many of which are FREE!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being on the set of the new show, Doctor and The Diva, starring the talented and funny AF American Idol alum Kimberly Locke, and Emmy award-winning medical correspondent, Dr. Steve Salvatore. He’s funny AF too, by the way.
I love to talk, so I thought attending a talk show taping would be fun. And you know what? It was.
In my coaching program, one thing that I remind my clients, especially the emptynest mom, is the importance of staying dateable. Like it or not, it’s a must-do in all intimate relationships.
So what a surprise it was for me when the author of the book, Cheat On Your Husband (with Your Husband): How to Date Your Spouse, Andrea Syrtash was a guest expert for a show segment on what topic? Cheating. Comedian, Chuck Nice brought the humor and made it an amusing and informative conversation.
Check your area TV listings and be sure it check it out when it airs,
This week I stopped by Doctor and The Diva. Next week it’s off to The Wendy Williams Show, and the following week, it’s off to the new Mel Robbins Show. All scheduled between my business and personal commitments. Sweet!
Today, an audience member, tomorrow a guest expert, next year or two, my own show. That’s right.
Think big or die small.
Life is full of opportunities everywhere, and comfort zone living is so 1970s.
What new and exciting things do you have planned for yourself in the near future?
The things that that will have folks saying, “She is indeed living her best life and affirming my tagline, Motherhood is NOT where dreams go to die.”
Just as importantly, remember, your children, regardless of their ages are watching, so give them a damn good show -the kind of life and ambition worthy of mimicking.
