NEWSFLASH!
Everybody in your circle is NOT on Team YOU.
Some have simply taken a front row seat in your life, waiting and hoping for your downfall. Doubting your potential, your dreams, and your success.
Sadly some are even harboring these feelings while using God’s name at every turn.
Some would rather critique than collaborate.
I’m sending out a big shout out, a virtual hug, to every woman who knows and has experienced this level of disappointment.
On a regular basis, I encourage women to collectively demonstrate what true sisterhood is all about. Grown women, secure in themselves need not engage in unhealthy competition but strive for productive collaborations instead.
Don’t you agree?
Sometimes it’s the smallest of gestures that can make a difference, especially in this crazy, busy social media space in which many of us spend an inordinate amount of time in.
The following quote pretty much sums it up for me:
“I get it…we are all busy and have our own agendas, and I am all for ‘getting the business’ BUT we sometimes forget that our very presence, a ‘like’, ‘share’, PM, DM, text message, call, blog comment…you get the point…are all forms of saying “Hey Girl, I see you!” and THAT may be just what someone may need to stop the negative chatter in their head that we all get, You know the “What/Why TF am I doing this?” and keep treading forward!” – Ellen Martin Weglarz
Let’s remember that sisterhood is much more than a hashtag and your actions will always speak louder than your words.
There is power in numbers and who amongst us isn’t down for girl power?
- Have you experienced “shade” from those who you assumed were your allies?
- Have you been guilty of dishing it out, subconsciously or not?
- What have you done this week to uplift another woman?
Speak Queen! Let the much needed supportive dialogue begin! Feel free to share your comments below.
And don’t forget to SHARE with another woman who needs to hear this message.

I am currently digging myself out of those feelings. It is not an overnight process at all but in order for me to grow I have to stop allowing these distractions to sideline me because I have work to do.
