Banning flights would not allow the US to send aid workers or supplies. The issue with the rapid spread of the disease is the poor infrastructure and hygiene (lack of running and clean water, crowded living, etc.) in the country. Something we can easily purchase every day at the supermarket, chlorine bleach, can kill the virus. They should handle this like they handles swine flu in 2009—be diligent in their screening at airports.
