The holiday season has arrived. The year is coming to a close, and you can finally sit back and take a little time to look back at how far you’ve progressed. Now, there’s a rather large group of people who have helped you to get to where you are at this moment: your customers. These are the people who have turned over your sales and provided you with the profits that you are using to reinvest in your company and spend in your day to day life. So, what better time than now to show them a little appreciation? It is, after all, the season of giving. Here are just a few ideas for ways to show your thanks:
Greetings Cards
Perhaps the simplest way to show your thanks is to send your customers greetings cards wishing them the best over the holiday season. E-greetings cards are probably the cheapest and can be sent en mass to members of your mailing list. However, they can often end up lost in junk mail folders. A better alternative, if possible, is to mail out a real card direct to your customers’ homes. This option is feasible if you have their details from previous purchases. While it may cost a little more than an E-card, it shows a sincere effort on your part. Use a professional print and mail service, reflective of the uniqueness of your brand. If you can’t do it for all, be sure to make things a little more personal for customers who bring a lot of business your way, by signing off on the card yourself.
Discounts and Vouchers
As well as a greetings card, you can slip an extra little surprise into your customers’ inboxes. Discount codes and voucher codes can be a brilliant gift that benefits you and the consumers in receipt of them. They can save a little cash when they next shop with you, but it also encourages them to return to your business and make purchases that they might not have made otherwise. Rather than merely sending a letter and number code, spruce things up a bit. Design a virtual coupon, decked with holly, bells, or sparkly red and gold fonts. Remember that you are always entitled to include terms and conditions such as expiration dates and exclusions on specific items or services.
Host an Event
If you want a real celebration, you can always hold a festive event to celebrate the successful year that your business has had. Most companies will hold staff Christmas parties, but what about an event for your customers too? If you have a physical store or brick and mortar business, this should be simple. Merely open the doors a little later than your standard opening hours, send out invites, and invite customers in for a complimentary glass of bubbly or juice. As well as functioning as a celebration, this will also give you the opportunity to do a little subtle market research by asking customers for some feedback.
Be merry and bright! Share your joy and use the opportunity to help build relations with your customer base. Cheers to a prosperous new year!
